How to view your App Store purchase history

The quickest route is reportaproblem.apple.com in any browser, or on iPhone: App Store → your photo → Apps & Purchase History → Purchase History. Then change the "Last 90 Days" filter to reach older purchases. The rest of this guide covers every device, the search options and what to do when something is missing.

What Apple’s purchase history contains

According to Apple, your purchase history includes free and paid apps from the App Store, in-app purchases, subscriptions, music, videos, books, AppleCare+ and more. It is tied to your Apple Account (formerly Apple ID), not to a device, so purchases made on an old phone are still there.

It lists individual purchases. It is not the same as your list of downloadable apps, and it does not add anything up for you. The table below shows where each kind of question is answered.

On iPhone

Open the App Store and tap your photo or initials

If you are signed out, tap the My Account button and sign in to your Apple Account.

Tap Apps & Purchase History

You may be asked to sign in again, or to confirm with Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode.

Tap Purchase History

The list opens on recent paid purchases. The next section explains how to widen it.

On iPad

The steps are the same as on iPhone: in the App Store, tap your photo or initials, then Apps & Purchase History, then Purchase History.

On Mac

Open the App Store and click your name

It is at the bottom of the sidebar. If you are signed out, click Sign In first.

Click Apps & Purchase History

You might be asked to sign in to your Apple Account.

Click Purchase History

Then use "Last 90 Days" at the top to choose another filter.

On a Windows PC

On Windows, Apple routes purchase history through the Apple Music app or the Apple TV app, not through a separate App Store app.

Open the Apple Music app or the Apple TV app

Click your name at the bottom of the sidebar, or click Sign In.

Click View My Account

You might need to sign in to your Apple Account.

Scroll to Purchase History and click See All

It is next to Most Recent Purchase. The list can take a moment to appear.

On the web: reportaproblem.apple.com

From any browser, sign in at reportaproblem.apple.com to see a list of your purchases. It is the only route that works without an Apple device, and it is also where refund requests start. Apple suggests checking the list on your device if an item doesn’t appear on the website.

Purchases older than 90 days

This is the most common source of confusion. On iPhone and iPad, Purchase History opens on a view labelled "Last 90 Days, Paid". That label is a filter, not a statement that older purchases were deleted.

Tap it and change the settings. On iPhone, Apple lists four:

FilterWhat it changesWhen to use it
Date rangeWhich period is listedReaching purchases older than 90 days
CostFree, paid, or bothFinding a free app you downloaded, which the default view leaves out
TypeThe kind of item listedIsolating apps, subscriptions or other content
Family memberWhose purchases are listedOnly available if you organize a Family Sharing group

On Mac and Windows, the same "Last 90 Days" control sits at the top of Purchase History.

The search field in Purchase History accepts three kinds of input:

Receipts, order IDs and grouped charges have their own guide: how to find an App Store receipt or order ID.

Family Sharing

If you organize a Family Sharing group, the Family member filter lets you see purchases made by members. Apple notes that an item you don’t remember buying may have been bought by a family member, so check with them before assuming an error.

Purchase History vs Your Apps

Both live under Apps & Purchase History, which is why they get mixed up.

Affected by hidingNo: hidden apps stay in complete purchase historyYes: hidden apps leave this list

Apple’s wording on the last row is precise: a hidden app and its in-app purchases still appear in your complete purchase history. The full picture is in hidden App Store purchases: what hiding really does.

It was billed outside AppleSome apps sell purchases or subscriptions that don’t go through Apple In-App Purchase. Apple can’t show or support those; the developer can.

The "receipt" was never from AppleSuspicious emails about purchases may not come from Apple at all. Compare them with your real purchase history.
The website doesn’t show itCheck Purchase History on your iPhone, iPad or Mac, as Apple suggests.

If you have used more than one Apple Account

Each Apple Account has its own purchase history, and one account can’t see another’s. If you once used a different email address, sign in with that account at reportaproblem.apple.com and check there. An old email receipt shows which Apple Account made a purchase.

Purchases billed outside Apple

Depending on the app and your country or region, some purchases don’t use Apple’s billing: purchases in apps from alternative app distribution, App Store apps that offer their own External Purchases, and purchases inside Mac apps installed from the web. Apple says it can’t help with the history, refunds or cancellation of those purchases. Contact the developer instead.

Troubleshooting checklist

  1. Change the filter: widen the date range and include free items.
  2. Search by the exact amount you were charged.
  3. Try another route: the website, then your iPhone, iPad or Mac.
  4. Sign in with any other Apple Account you have used.
  5. Ask family members, or use the Family member filter if you are the organizer.
  6. If the app sold the item itself, contact the developer.
  7. If you still can’t find it, contact Apple Support.

Questions people ask

Does Apple delete purchase history after 90 days?

Apple’s documentation doesn’t say so. "Last 90 Days" is the default filter on the Purchase History screen, and Apple tells you to change it to view more purchases.

Why don’t I see free apps?

On iPhone the default view is limited to paid items. Change the Cost filter to include free downloads.

Is there a separate purchase history for iPad or Mac?

No. Purchase history belongs to the Apple Account, so the same purchases appear whichever device you use to look.

Also on Android? The Google Play equivalent: Google Play purchase history.

Your Apple history, in one archive?

App Purchase Vault currently archives Google Play purchases on Android. Apple App Store import is planned, not available yet.
