How to find an App Store receipt or order ID

Fastest route: open Purchase History (reportaproblem.apple.com, or App Store → your photo → Apps & Purchase History) and search the amount or the order ID. If you need the receipt itself, search your email for "receipt from Apple" or "invoice from Apple".

The fastest route, by what you already have

Purchase History is the index

Every route below starts from your App Store purchase history, because it is the one place that lists everything you bought through Apple, searchable. Remember that on iPhone it opens on "Last 90 Days, Paid": widen the filter before concluding something isn’t there.

Search by price

Type the amount into the search field. Apple specifically suggests this when you know how much you were charged but not what for. If a single bank charge matches nothing, it may be several purchases grouped together: see grouped charges below.

Search by order ID

Apple’s iPhone guide lists the order ID as one of the three things the search field accepts, alongside the name and the price. If you have an order ID, for example from an email receipt, searching it takes you straight to the matching purchase.

Transaction details

Open a purchase in the list to see the details Apple shows for it. What is displayed can vary by device and by type of purchase, so we don’t list fields Apple doesn’t document. For a formal record, the email receipt is the reference.

Email receipts

Apple emails a receipt for purchases. To find one, search your mailbox for "receipt from Apple" or "invoice from Apple", which is how Apple itself suggests tracking down a charge. The receipt shows what was bought and which Apple Account made the purchase.

For subscriptions, you can turn on Renewal Receipt Emails in Settings → your name → Subscriptions, to get a receipt each time a subscription renews.

Be careful with look-alike emails: Apple warns that a purchase notification may not be from Apple or reflect a real charge. When in doubt, check the purchase in your history rather than clicking links in the email.

Grouped Apple charges

Apple may group several purchases and subscriptions into one charge, and bills at the time of purchase or within a few days. Apple notes that in Europe and India purchases might not be grouped. When a bank amount matches nothing, look for purchases on nearby dates that add up to it, or check the emailed receipt, which can list several items.

Family purchases

With Family Sharing, both the person who made the purchase and the family organizer receive an email receipt. The organizer can use the Family member filter in Purchase History, and on reportaproblem.apple.com can use the Apple Account button to choose a family member.

Different Apple Accounts

If a receipt shows an Apple Account you don’t usually use, sign in with that account to see its purchase history. Each account’s purchases are separate.

The web version of your purchase history is also where you request a refund: sign in, choose "I’d like to", then "Request a refund", and pick the item. Apple says to expect an update within 24 to 48 hours, and that refund eligibility varies by country or region. You can’t request a refund for a charge that is still pending.

APPLE.COM/BILL on your statement

On a bank or card statement, Apple charges typically appear under apple.com/bill. That line can cover apps, subscriptions, music, films and more, and it can combine several purchases. The dedicated guide explains how to identify an APPLE.COM/BILL charge.

Purchases paid outside Apple

Some apps sell purchases or subscriptions through their own payment system rather than Apple In-App Purchase. Those purchases don’t appear in your Apple purchase history, and Apple can’t provide receipts or refunds for them. Look for the receipt from the developer, and contact the developer for help.
