If you searched for "Purchased Apps", you probably remember what it did: one tap, and it listed every app you'd ever paid for. It's gone from the Play Store. Here's an honest map of what you can use instead — including its limits.

Why Purchased Apps disappeared

Purchased Apps didn't read your history from a file — it looked into your Google account's Play data directly, using account-level access that was never an official, documented API. When Google tightened that access, the app's method broke; by 2024 the app had been removed from the Play Store. Hundreds of thousands of downloads and a strong rating didn't matter: a product built on unofficial access lives one platform change away from zero.

That's the lesson to apply to every alternative below — and to any new app making the same promise: ask where it gets the data.

Alternative 1: Play's own order history

Play Store → profile → Payments & subscriptions → Budget & history. Official, always available, shows amounts and dates. Limitations: no search, no filters, no totals, old entries require marathon scrolling. Good for recent purchases; painful for archaeology. More: Google Play Purchase History.

Alternative 2: The Play Library

Manage apps & device → Manage → "Not installed" lists apps associated with your account. But it's an install history, not a purchase history: free and paid are mixed, no prices, no dates, inconsistent coverage of the distant past. Useful for "what was that app called?", not for "what did I buy?".

Alternative 3: Google Takeout (the complete route)

Export your Play data as files: purchases with dates, orders with amounts, years back. Complete and official, and — unlike Purchased Apps' method — it's a documented Google feature that can't be quietly cut off, because it's your data export, requested by you. Alternative 4: App Purchase Vault — pre-launch

In the interest of full disclosure: that's us, and we don't exist yet. What to avoid

• Apps asking for your Google credentials. There is no legitimate reason a purchase-history viewer needs your password or sign-in.
• Websites that want your whole Takeout ZIP uploaded. Order data can include payment fields. If a tool isn't local, think twice.
• Apps resurrecting the old method. If it accesses your account the way Purchased Apps did, it has the same life expectancy.
