Google Play Order History vs Google Takeout: What's the Difference?
Both come from Google, both describe the same purchases. One is an interface for quick questions; the other is a file export for everything else. Short version: use the interface for "what was this charge?", use Takeout for anything older, bigger or analytical.

When the interface is enough
Checking a recent charge. Grabbing a receipt from last month. Verifying a subscription renewal. Anything where "recent" and "quick" describe the need — the interface wins because it's already on your phone. Details: Google Play Purchase History.
When you want Takeout
- Anything older than your patience. A purchase from 2018 is a scroll marathon in the interface, a Ctrl+F in the export.
- Totals and stats. "How much have I spent?" is unanswerable on screen and a spreadsheet sum from the export — see How Much Have I Spent on Google Play?
- Keeping your own archive. Interfaces change; a yearly ZIP on your drive doesn't.
- Searching by fragment. Half-remembered app names need real text search.

The gap between them
The interface is convenient but shallow; the export is complete but raw. Nothing official sits in between — no searchable, keepable, friendly view of your own history.
